I am likely going to do away with MIK altogether. Lastly, I was pretty disappointed and frustrated as well when I learned the hard way that MIK does not update WAV tags. especially since I have to analyze key anyway in MIK. Considering Cox's idea of overwriting Camelot Key information in the initial key field after Rekordbox analyzes, I don't see a reason to use MIK. I am debating whether I should continue doing this because I don't really use the energy information and searchability is limited since it is in the comments tag combined with key information.ģ. After I realized this, the only thing I use MIK for now is to put Camelot Key and energy information in the comments column. Regardless of what you do in MIK, Rekordbox (using 5.0.3) still needs to analyze and overwrite key information in order to key sync and make recommendations of related files related by key.Ģ. Just to add to Dave Cox's comments above on analysing in Rekordbox.this sort of defeats the purpose of using MIK doesn't it?ġ. I have no idea what to do differently and believe I am following the instructions word by word. Nothing! Below a screenshot just before I choose "Reload Tags" I then go to RekordBox and under "Collection" choose all my tracks, right click and choose "Reload Tags". In MiK under "Update Tags" I check "Update common tags" and choose "Write only the key" and "Where to write it" check "Overwrite comments". Below is a screenshot of my MiK application where Key has been added. It’s an awesome way of ensuring you pick the perfect track for that hands-in-the-air moment, set finale or super smooth warm-up vibe. In the "Analyze and Browse" section of MiK I click "Add files" and choose all the tracks I want to analyze. Mixed In Key makes it super easy for you to understand your collection’s potential by rating every track with an Energy Level from 1-10. I have just installed Rekordbox 4.1.1 and I have installed MiK 7.5.2. Let me go through what I've done/doing step by step. It’s an incredible high, and it’s even more incredible when you can predict how the crowd will react before you mix the next song. That’s why we became DJs, and that’s why we love what we do. You’re the maestro performing a masterpiece. I can assure you this works, as Oakstream was pointing out.ĭon't like to differ but this is exactly what I'm doing and I can assure you this does NOT work. It’s a powerful feeling when you’re playing music for an audience. You > If MIK is writing the key to the COMMENTS section, it will not show up in rekordbox's KEY column.
